We know that the IRS is delaying tax payments for those who owe in 2020. More details below on this.
The important thing to know is that as of right now, there is no plans to delay 2020 tax refunds. As in the money the IRS/Treasury owes to you will not be delayed as of right now.
As a note, make sure you are doing everything you can to get your tax refund quickly. Right now the IRS is still functioning at 100% so this is the time to contact them and make sure your return is prioritized.
2019 Tax Returns Payments can be deferred for 90 additional days following April 15th deadline.
Most Americans can get a three-month reprieve to pay their income taxes for 2019, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Tuesday in a press conference.
The IRS will postpone the April 15 tax deadline by 90 days for millions of individuals who owe $1 million or less and corporations that owe $10 million or less, he said.
To be sure, Americans still have to meet the April 15 deadline if they are expecting a refund or are requesting a six-month extension, but they can defer payment for up to 90 days beyond that.
“We encourage those Americans who can file their taxes to continue to file their taxes on April 15 because for many Americans, you will get tax refunds and we don’t want you to lose out on those tax refunds,” Mnuchin said. “We want you to make sure you get them.”
“All you have to do is file your taxes,” Mnuchin said. “You’ll automatically not get charged interest and penalties.”
I filed my taxes online on February 15, 2020. I later filed an amended injured spouse stating my husband had a school loan. I was to receive $3451.00. When can I expect to have an answer or payment? President Trump stated the refund checks will be sent quickly. Is that the same process for amended returns?
they say there will be no delays i received a letter stating they are holding my refund for reveiw and i really need my money
My tax refund has been delayed filed 2/1 and accepted received letter review 60 days
I was told to check all info it’s all correct and I was told I was to do nothing further. I contacted advocate to help with hardship made a claim to receive help from advocate and given a pin # and to wait 6 days for a return phone call, 2 weeks later still no return call and I’ve left multiple messages

I filed on Feb.6(2019 return) and received “Return Accepted” on March 3. I began looking on the “Where’s my refund” site on March 17. Today is May 8 and it has said the same thing every day, “Your return has been received and is under review”, 62 days. I cannot get anyone on the phone to assist. I am also on SS and believe since my 2019 return has been filed but not processed it is holding up my stimulus payment.
I mailed my 2019 taxes through the Post Office March 8, 2020.
I have repeatedly looked on-line @ IRS.gov – Where’s my refund?
They don’t have any knowledge of my return when I enter my SS#, Filing Status and Amount I am owed. I would like to know if they ever received my information in the mail and when I can anticipate my refund.
Similar to most of the posts. We filed in Feb. 2020. Can the employees not work from home or social distance in the office. Going to the page several times per week & feels like a waste of time. They already have thousands of employees in each state. What is the deal? People need their funds.
