Great news for those who filed the first week of February.
The IRS have released the 3rd official 2016 tax refunds for those who filed the first week of February or earlier. Check Where’s My Refund to see if you are the in the direct deposit payout date.
This is the message from the IRS: “Your tax refund is scheduled to be sent to your bank by February 19, 2016. If your refund is not credited to your account by February 24, 2016, check with your bank to see if it has been received.”
Check your Where’s My Refund now to see if you are a part of this direct deposit date.
If you filed in January, now is the time to give the IRS a call. We have some information on how to contact the IRS, here.
Thanks for all your support and we are in the process of working on our Match My Refund contest for this year. Bigger and better cash prices for more than one taxpayer this year.
i filed mines on the 4th of Feb and I’m still at one bar with no ddd. Of course when i call they give the 21 day rule
This has been the only positive news I’ve read since my refund was accepted by the IRS on 02.04.2016. I filed with Turbo Tax on 02.03.2016. Since the Turbo Tax notification stating that the IRS accepted my refund on the 4th, I have not seen any action except for the 1 bar “Refund Accepted” via IRS site. I’ve been reading all the posts in the “I got my refund” site and many who have filed on 02.04.2016 and have been able to reach a live IRS representative who didn’t give them the standard “you must wait 21 days before calling about your refund”, reported that they have been “re-scheduled” and their new “Refund Accepted” date is 02.08.2016 which is a week later than it should have been.
I have been tempted to call the IRS myself, to find out if my return is amongst the others who were re-scheduled or re-sequenced but to even inquire about it won’t make my refund come any quicker, so I’ve been waiting anxiously for any “general news” … reading the “I got my refund” forum sets my emotions up and down because some people have received their refund while others have not and the information is not consistent as to how they filed (self or agency), completed dated versus accepted date by the IRS, approved date if any, direct deposit type (regular bank or temporary debit card), and even if they had issues with last years taxes. There are so many variables to consider and to get people’s hopes up or turn hopes down, is a horrible thing to partake in.
Anyhow … IF this information above IS correct, I did file in the 1st week of February and hope and pray I receive the direct deposit sooner rather than later. Whether or not I was re-scheduled, re-sequenced, or if I had any issues to correct on my Income Tax Return forms … would hinder any possibilities of the “sooner”, I suppose. The “not knowing” is the hardest part.
Whomever posted this information, thank you for giving me a glimpse of hope for a deposit soon – and I understand the risk of having high hopes, therefore, I’ll take it as merely hopeful news. Thanks again.
yes i ust got off the phone with them and they told my received date was pushed up to the 8th of Feb and i filed on the 4th as well which means i probably wont ge it until next week. im still at 1 bar but im hoping that it comes monday
Thanks for sharing, Meleka. I’m guessing I’m in the same boat. Talk about bad timing huh? And I was excited to get it completed early this year. It’s unfortunate that due to bad timing, the process to complete our returns is delayed. I’m guessing even if the IRS wanted to correct the situation ethically, it might cause more damage than good. Gotta make sense of this whole thing so we don’t drive ourselves nuts, right? I just hope it’s not a “life or death” situation for anyone … my kids are not affected by this where they would suffer so I’m OK with waiting and hoping we are just not being “screwed” for no apparent reason.
I file 2/1 no DD today but was able to order both transcripts on Tuesday which is a good sign and my 21 days is up on Sunday, does that mean I am getting mine a week later than people in my week?
I have had no TT or anything this whole time, no letters and was able to order my transcripts on the first try. My friend and husband filed theirs on the 31st and the 4th and both have had their already granted im getting alot more in refunds than both of them combined, but still confusing.
Yeah, seems like this whole ordering of the transcripts is just an added tool that people are using to get any kind of relief – not so much that they “need” their transcripts. It’s unfortunate that the IRS website isn’t up-to-date to where people could just get the information they need – whether it’s good news or bad news – so additional work [unnecessary work – like answering extra calls or processing extra transcripts] could be avoided. Overall, sounds like this years Where’s My Refund site is going to ultimately cost the taxpayers more money because of the negative impact it seems to have undergone. Eeeek. I’m glad people can voice their concerns and give their opinions … but to start a trend of ordering transcripts just to get any answer regardless if having the physical documents are needed or not, just adds more frustration because there is no guarantee that if the system allows you to order means that your refund has been processed completely. People don’t think that there could be a glitch there too? Come on, stop reaching. There is nothing anyone can do to speed up the process by taking unnecessary steps for peace of mind.
I filed on February 4 th and got accepted in the 8 th still no bars or updated only says processing and a refund date will be available.. Tomorrow is my 21 days and I haven’t received a letter or been directed to contact the irs
I filed on Jan 21. It was accepted on Jan 22. Bars disappeared about a week later. I called IRS to verify info on Feb. 12. Still no bars, it keeps saying my return is being processed and a refund date will be provided when available…. What is going on?!! 🙁 This is so frustrating. I called today and they said they see I verified, to give it 6 weeks.
It don’t take 6 weeks had to same thing got a DD Date Mar2 I verify on Feb 13 so 17 days later
Im in the same boat
